Connect users to your bot without sharing their key
Like “Sign in with …” on other sites: your integration sends a link, the user logs in on Vaultix, and your server gets a connection token.
Before
Users typed their license key or username into your bot, and the bot used it to look them up.
What’s new
- Your server starts a connect request and sends the user a link. A login link only logs in with their license key or username and password, a sign-up link only creates a new account (if you allow it).
- Your server gets a connection token. It only works with the API key that received it and only from the addresses that key allows.
- Choose per key how long a login lasts: 1 to 365 days.
- Check whether an account with an exact note exists, for example a Discord ID saved at sign-up. The answer is yes or no, nothing else.
- End a connected user’s subscription, for example when your bot removes a role. It can be restored from the trash.
- Sign out all users of a key in one click. Deleting a key or resetting a user’s password ends their connections too.
- The login page uses your own name, logo and colors, set on the new Customization page.
What you need to change
Users can no longer be looked up or given subscriptions by license key, username or user ID through the API. Switch your bot to the connect flow, see the docs.
