What is Vaultix?
Vaultix is a licensing and delivery platform for desktop software: license keys and user accounts, subscriptions, Discord support tickets, and zero-knowledge file delivery. Files, folders and variables are end-to-end encrypted in your browser, so Vaultix stores and delivers them without being able to read them.
Build secure applications with user authentication, product subscriptions, and encrypted file delivery without worrying about authentication infrastructure. How the encryption works.
Put a proxy in front of Vaultix
We highly recommend placing a proxy server between Vaultix services and your client devices. A dedicated proxy layer lets you enforce IP allowlists, rate limits, and TLS inspection without exposing client hardware directly to our APIs. This extra isolation also streamlines incident response by letting you revoke or rotate access at the proxy edge first.
Set up your first app
- 1
Create your application
Navigate to the Applications page and create your first application. Each app gets a unique API key (prefix: ap_) that identifies your application.
Go to applications
- 2
Configure the authentication mode
Choose your authentication method in app settings:
Key-based auth
Each user gets a unique key (e.g., MYAPP-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).
SimpleFast
Username and password
Traditional login with email/username and password.
FamiliarFlexible
The auth mode cannot be changed once users are created.
- 3
Create products
Products represent the different services or content your users can access. Users need a subscription to access product files and resources. For example:
- Game (Basic Tier)
- Game (Premium Tier)
- Software Tool Pro Version
- Content Pack #1
- 4
Create users and subscriptions
Create users for your app and grant them subscriptions to products:
Create a user
App → Users → Create user
Assign a subscription
App → Subscriptions → Create subscription
- 5
Integrate the C++ client
Use our C++ client library to integrate authentication into your application:
C++Copy
#include "VaultixClient.h"
int main() {
Vaultix::VaultixClient client("https://vaultix.cc/api");
client.SetApiKey("ap_your_api_key_here");
// Key-based auth
if (client.AuthenticateWithKey(userKey)) {
std::cout << "Authenticated!" << std::endl;
// Download file from product
client.DownloadFile(productId, "update.exe", "./update.exe");
}
return 0;
}
