License keys and user accounts for your software
Give every customer a license key, or let them register with a username and password. Vaultix checks who may run your software, for which product and until when.
Two ways to sign in
Choose per app. Keys suit software you sell and hand out; accounts suit people who sign up themselves.
- License keys in the format PREFIX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, with your own prefix
- Or username, email and password, created from a registration link you send
- Password resets by email for account-based apps
- One key or account can hold subscriptions to several products
Subscriptions per product
A subscription links a user to a product. Without an active one, the user gets no files, folders or variables of that product.
- An expiry date, or none for lifetime access
- Extend, pause and resume any subscription
- Pause or resume every subscription of a product at once, for maintenance
- Optional 7-day auto-login on a trusted device
In your app and on your website
The C++ SDK signs users in and refreshes their session by itself. On your website, ready-made login and registration forms use a browser-safe key, and only your server can grant subscriptions after a payment.
Questions
- Can one customer have several products?
- Yes. One license key or account can hold a subscription to each of your products, each with its own expiry date.
- Can I sell lifetime licenses?
- Yes. Leave the expiry date empty and the subscription never runs out.
- Can I switch from keys to accounts later?
- The sign-in method is set per app and stays fixed once users exist, so choose it before you sell your first license.
